THE LATEST NEWS ABOUT YOUR CLUB

CEO Message – 14th December 2021

Good afternoon members

My final address for 2021. Where has this year gone?

The last couple of months have been as challenging a time as I can remember for many reasons, however put simply, COVID 19 and Public Health Orders.

From Wednesday the 15th December 2021, we are finally released of all the COVID restrictions that we have had to endure along with our members and community during this pandemic. We will be able to welcome all members, guests and visitors regardless of vaccination status. The only requirement will be signing in via our Infosign system at reception, all other Public Health Order measures will no longer be required by the Club to operate, it will be like attending the club pre-COVID.

We will continue to operate the Club under a COVID safety plan, where all of the hygiene measures that you have become accustomed to will still be employed by our diligent staff. As detailed further in this email, on our website and social media, the club has a lot of activities and promotions for our valued members to enjoy at your club and save a dollar as well throughout December and January.

The Club has been able to provide valuable financial support to some very worthy organisations in the last month with the following groups receiving grants from member funds:

  • Murwillumbah RSL Sub Branch $14,000 – veteran welfare and support.
  • Burringbar School of Arts Hall $1,800 – replace a solar inverter
  • Murwillumbah Legacy $2,000 – provide support to War Widows UKI
  • Technology Centre $2,000 – IT equipment

Total funding $19,800.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff I would like to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy 2022.

Warm regards

CEO MESSAGE 10TH SEPTEMBER 2021

Good afternoon Members,

It is with a sense of relief that advise your club will be re-opening on Saturday 11th September 2021, having almost completed our second lockdown in eighteen months for a total of 98 days closed. Our staff are eager to get back to the club and provide great customer service in a COVID safe environment.

As you may appreciate it is very difficult to pivot a large business on short notice, unfortunately our governments provide little notice on when they change the Health Orders that the club must operate within. To that end, the club’s re-opening will be cautious and measured. A number of changes that you should be aware of:

Rules:

  • Masks must be worn inside the club whilst standing and moving around.
  • Masks are not required when drinking and eating or in our outdoor gaming room or outdoor balcony
  • Venue and room limits will apply to conform with the 1 person per 4 square meter rule indoors and 1 person per 2 square meters outdoors.
  • Members, guests and visitors will be required to QR Code sign in and our reception staff will help with that process. There is no requirement to prove vaccinations at this point.

Supporting Our Community

I’m pleased to inform our members of our community work during this lockdown. We have increased our supply of ‘Heat and Eat’ meals to the Murwillumbah Community Centre from 50 to 75 meals per week, meeting an increasing demand for this service. We have also been supplying meals to our staff that have been stood down during this current lockdown. Our first two Community raffles have raised over $700 to be shared by Murwillumbah Legacy and the Murwillumbah Hospital Auxiliary, along with injecting $2,000 of ‘Why Leave Town’ eftpos cards to support the local business community. Our next Community Raffle will be drawn on Friday, 17th September 7.00pm and tickets can be purchased via https://www.raffletix.com.au/?ref=tab7w Proceeds raised will go to our 225 Regional Cadet unit.

I would like to thank on behalf of the Board and our members, the Club’s loyal staff members whom have had to endure opening the club on short notice twice along with having to shut the club down on even shorter notice twice. The professionalism that our staff have displayed throughout this pandemic has been outstanding.

CEO REPORT
July/August 2021

Welcome to another edition of the INNER CIRCLE.

The Club building works continue at a good pace and are on schedule to finish mid-July. The finished product will be well worth the inconvenience, particularly our function and lounge rooms that have had to bear the brunt of the disruptions. Below are a few photos for the benefit of members.

The Club’s entry into the Perfect Plate competition is “Chicken Bahia”, as depicted in the photo (right). Our competition dish has been our number one selling dish in Rivers Dining over the last three weeks. To our members that have purchased this dish and voted, please accept our heart-felt thank you. Our catering team is very proud of this dish and rightfully so.

The NSW government’s Dine and Discover vouchers are valid until the 31st July 2021, our venue is registered for you to redeem the dining vouchers, our staff are more than happy to assist you either at Reception or in Rivers Dining. Do not miss out on using these vouchers.

We will be trialing a new ordering platform in Rivers Dining, from the middle of June onwards. This will allow our members and guests to order and pay for any item on our menu, from their table using their smartphone, avoiding having to go to the counter or queuing during busy periods. Members will be able to use their bonus points, credit card or Google/Android Pay for payments. We are excited to bring you this new technology. Our Food and Beverage Manager Dean will be on-hand to assist our guests during the trial period.

Finally, Membership renewals will commence on the 1st June. Members that are due to renew their membership will receive their notice shortly via email, text or mail. Renewal fees are $5 for 1 year or $15 for 5 years and can be completed at the club reception which is open 7 days and nights per week, alternatively, we can process your renewal over the phone or on the internet.
Thank you for your continued support of your Club.

MEMBERSHIP UPDATE 3RD AUGUST 2020

The pandemic is forcing all of us to adapt at home, at work and at the Club. While the number of active cases of COVID-19 locally remains very low, outbreaks in Victoria and Metropolitan Sydney are also a reminder that we have to remain vigilant and do what we can to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. The recent increase in cases around Brisbane is a concern and reinforces the importance of following good hygiene and social distancing practices and public health guidelines.

With the Victorian Premier declaring a State of Disaster, from today we will not be allowing visitors from Victoria into our venue, we do not intend to offend our Victorian visitors, our primary objective is to provide a COVID safe venue. We have also included to the area’s of Campbelltown, Liverpool and Fairfield Council area’s in New South Wales, Cabramatta, Mount Pritchard, Potts Point, St Leonards and Surrey Hills. Visitors residing in these locations will also be denied entry to the Club until further notice.

For the benefit of our members information, each visitor to our venue must provide identification that we scan, this identification is either a drivers license, proof of age card, passport, or NSW Photo Card (all government issued identification). We hold this information securely. This scanning system will alert our reception staff if the visitor trying to attend the club is in any of the COVID hotspots as detailed above, if identified they are refused entry.

I respectfully ask our members and guests that if you are unwell please do not attend the club. If you are attending the club, please use the hand sanitisers conveniently located throughout the club for your use. Also practice social distancing, the club has its furniture placed so that you can sit safely. Drinking alcohol is only permitted if you are seated, if you are standing our staff will ask you to be seated. We all must play our part to ensure that we are safe.

To date we have had only a handful of guests that we have had to speak to regarding their behaviour. For the 99.9% of our members and their guests your behaviour and adhering to the directions of our staff have been exemplary, thank you.

As the COVID Pandemic continues to unfold, we continually have to adapt to ensure that we continue to provide a COVID safe venue for our members, community and our staff.

We are all in this together.

Warm regards

MEMBERS UPDATE 3rd JUNE 2020

Dear Members,

I have been contacted by Members over the past few days asking many questions regarding Club activities and Member benefits, the main questions related to:

Renewals and Membership – I am pleased to advise that the Board of Directors have extended every members membership as at the 22nd March 2020 an additional year, free of charge. If your membership was due for renewing on the 30th June 2020, it has been extended until 30th June 2021. For those members with multi-years, your membership too has been extended by one (1) year.

Reward Points – Balances will remain the same as what they were as at close of trade 22nd of March. These balances will be available for use now that the Club is re-open. Those members in Platinum and Gold tier will have until 30th September 2020 use their points balance before they expire.

Tier Levels – The tier level you had reached at the time of the club closure will remain as it is when the club re-opens. No Downgrades will be done until 31st December 2020.

Promotion Entries – All promotion entries earned toward the final draw of the “March $5000 Cash Giveaway” promotion, and the Keno “Win a BBQ” promotion shall remain in place until these promotions are re-instated.

Membership Details – All details remain in our secure system and have been re-activated on the 1st June 2020. Members will be required to update details upon their first entry back into the club after re-opening.

Gaming Card Accounts – Balances will remain the same as what they were at the end of trade on the 22nd of March 2020. All funds will be available for use now that the club has re-opened.

Vouchers & Gift Cards – Any vouchers or Gift Cards with an Expiry date of while the club was closed will remain valid. Please enquire at reception, we will provide details to members on the new periods of redemption for these vouchers that were valid after the 22nd of March 2020.

Members Birthdays – Members Birthdays in April and May will have vouchers loaded onto their cards for use until 31st July 2020.

Promotions & Entertainment – At this time whilst restrictions are still in place, we will not be conducting our normal suite of promotions, raffles, trivia and bingo. Unfortunately, whilst our venue capacity is still limited, we will not be hosting Entertainment.

Entry to the club – At this point in time we are only admitting to the club one guest with each financial member. This is due to our venue capacity. This will be lifted as restrictions are eased.

Kids Meals & Kids Room – Given the restrictions on our dining capacity, our kids value meals of $3.90 have been removed from the menu, along with the closure of the kids room. As the government eases restrictions over the coming weeks and our venue capacity increases we will bring back these much loved and valued member services.

On behalf of the Board, Management and our entire Staff, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during this time and thank you for the amazing messages of support we have received throughout the past two months.

Warm regards
